Loves – Well, there are quite a few for Ozzie, angle jumps, Video flying, mountain swooping, speed riding, skiing, bouldering. However, possibly his biggest love is the vibe on a skills camp, a time when people who have never met before create a team and develop a unique team spirit that grows over time. This is only topped when this vibe results in long lasting friendships across the world.

About Ozzie

Ozzie’s first taste of skydiving was on his 18th birthday, he was certainly pretty keen to get up in the air & as a matter of fact the first official document as an ‘adult’ he put his signature on was a tandem waiver.

Ozzie has always been fascinated by the sport and everything that comes with it.  However, it took him a few years (college, other life stuff and three more tandems) before he finally started his AFF in 2009.

Since qualifying, he has travelled to many different boogies and skills camps all over the world, met amazing and dedicated people who have taught him in the air, in the tunnel as well as a person.

Ozzie’s view on life continues to evolve year on year and since he began coaching in the sport, he has a passion for passing on as much of what he has learnt so far to those he flies with.

Besides flying and coaching, one of Ozzie’s other love is video flying. He attended the ToraTora Filmmakers Workshop in 2019 led by Willem de Groot and Keith Creedy and has filmed at various events since then.

“Filming a group of ninjas while they’re doing their magic in the sky, ensuring they are framed correctly at each part of the jump and finding the right music for the edit is a fantastic challenge and super rewarding when you finally finish the edit.”

Ozzie is also part of a sequential team called Air Berlin Sequentials which coaches freeflyers in the tunnel during the winter months.

Although Ozzie is now coaching a lot of the time, he will most certainly still be flying as a participant at many skills camps and boogies as he believes it is important to never stop learning from the best.

Ozzies Thoughts...

“A good jump for me is a jump that was fun, challenging and safe at the same time, even when I try something on a skydive and do not quite succeed, I am still smiling because I just jumped from a plane and fell towards earth. There’s no reason for a sad face”

“Is it just me or do you also find yourself watching your own skydiving videos again and again without getting bored? For me they‘re full of good memories and happy thoughts”

“Sometimes we forget to cherish the little things. Skydiving makes me realise how little I need to be happy and fulfilled, it somehow clears my brain no matter what happened before or what might be coming after.  That can be very relieving at times and pretty special.”

“The moment you jump with another person you guys are buddies. You share the moment, the experience and of course the fun, I just love the social aspect of this sport.”

“I’m glad that VISIONAIRi is helping me and many others to do something about the only negative aspect of this wonderful sport. It might not be enough but it’s a big step in the right direction and I will happily spread the word and help grow the community so hopefully we can all keep enjoying this sport for a lot longer”

If you have not met Ozzie yet, we really hope you do soon, his smile and positive energy are totally infectious, they most certainly have an ‘R rate’ higher than any strains of COVID.

We are also hugely excited to have partnered with Ozzie and Hans to create their own VISIONAIRi Skills Camps at their home DZ Take Off Fallschirmsport

This is a really exciting step forward towards together. Growing the community and spreading the word so thank you both hugely for this and we are really excited to see it grow.
