We are super please that Rebecca & Victoria Bradley, FSU’s Harry and Alabama Shanker, Kate Lindsley, Sian Stokes & Chris Sears are going to be organising at the 2021 Rainbow boogie at Skydive Tilstock on the 29^th-31^st July and thought it would be worth sharing a bit more about the event and Skydive Tilstock.

The Event

The first event ran in 2019 and from everything we have heard it was one epic event.  A few of the participants who attended it have all mentioned ‘there was something a little bit special about those three days’. 

3 days of jumping, progression and lots of fun with a party on the Saturday night (free food, drink and live music) which meant that it is probably best that Tilstock do not jump on a Sunday.  Word on the street is this year will be even bigger and better making up for missing the 2020 Rainbow Boogie.

Oh and there is going to be a Heli there as well, who doesn’t like a Heli jump?

A bit more about Skydive Tilstock

Tilstock is nestled next to the Welsh board and is the oldest continually operating DZ in the UK, parachuting first started there in 1964 and is still going strong today.  The current CI Buzz first arrived at the DZ in 2010 and 6 years later his wife Kat became the DZO.  Although not the biggest DZ in the country, what they may ‘lack’ in lift capacity or the number of tandems done each year they certainly make up for in hospitality and the club/family vibe.

As a DZ, they have left many others behind in many ways.  Their forward-thinking and progressive approach to the sport, their staff and jumpers.  As soon as Buzz and Kat took over in 2016 they have carbon offset every load.  They are doing this through Carbon Footprint and supporting a project in Uganda which instals water boreholes, hence reducing the amount of fuel that locals burn to sanitise their water. 

Tilstock’s awareness and progressive thinking extends further that just the environmental side of things.  This season they have a tandem day planned where all fund raised will go to support a local food bank, have become ambassadors for White Ribbon, a charity focused around the education of male violence towards women and exploring the options of giving their jumpers easy ways of offsetting their journeys to the DZ with a local tree planting scheme.   

We are really looking forward to flying with as many of you as possible there and can’t wait to go and experience the DZ’s vibe for ourselves.
